Do Monitor Keywords and Competitors In twitter, it is not only hashtags that trend. Keywords also indicate a timely topical issue. You can latch on to any of these and contribute sound, helpful and maybe funny input. It shows your brand cares about what tweeps care about. Don’t stop there; monitor your competition as well. This is what the European soccer football brands do better than other users. They monitor each other closely and even engage each other in such a way as to generate some energy amongst their respective fans and followers. This way, they are contributing to sales of club merchandise, in the grand scheme of things.
